What another beautiful day!  I cannot wait to get out at lunch and just feel the fresh air!  Greg said he can tell it is getting closer to spring because he can smell the manure!

Jean Emelander’s funeral is this morning here at church.  She is survived by 7 children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Reva Hayes remains a patient at Blodgett.  The doctors feel she is in the end stages of her parkinson’s disease.

Don Woodwyk was transferred to Tendercare in Wyoming for physical therapy and should be coming home in a few weeks.

Enjoy a great day!

What a beautiful day here at HRC!  The sun is shining, all is quiet here!  The best part?  Two babies were born over the weekend!

Hudson David Alan Dekker was born on Saturday evening to Jason and Coby Dekker.  Big sister, Avery just wants to hug him!

Layne Milo Tanis is the first child for Luke and Erin Tanis!  They are excited to have a little boy in their arms!

Jean Emelander is a patient once again at Meijer Heart.  She is very weak.

Easton Vander Brink was in the hospital over the weekend with RSV but is now back home with his family.  They all have colds at the house so are staying pretty low key!

Have a great week!

I can’t believe how fast this year is going already!  Next week is March, spring is right around the corner, that means summer is too, now it is fall, the wedding in November and now we are back to winter!  Yikes!  BUT, I will not live in the future, today is a gift from God and I will enjoy every moment of it!

Don Woodwyk is a patient at Butterworth.  He is having tests done to see what is causing his problems (possibly rule out a blood clot in lung).

Irene Meyaard is still a patient at Zeeland.  She is doing much better and will probably be home in a day or two.

Pastor Don will continue his sermon series on Prayer at our evening worship services.

Hope to see you on Sunday!!!!

Missionary Updates & Reports

From Linn Gann
Our RCA Missionary to India

Dear Friends,

Thank you for praying with us….the conference in Vellore; Tues. Wed. & Thurs. was successful. Over 800 pastors, catechists, youth leaders, mission institution leaders & lay leaders were trained. CSI Bishop William, Vellore Diocese, thanked the team for a “successful conference”. After not having enough food for the participants on Tues. with over 300 attending, planned for 200; we ordered extra food on Wed. and had enough for the 350 + women leaders attending the conference.

Some highlights…pastor’s comments that they plan to implement “Life Transformation” groups in their area of influence; many conference attendees rode the bus for 3 hours or more to attend, there was an eagerness to learn, a hunger to go deeper in their relationship with Christ and a desire to be more fully equipped in their work and ministries. Many were prayed for, blessed and new relationships formed.

Tonight the team will pack and early tomorrow we leave for Central Church, Vellore where we will be singing a Tamil song at the 8:30 am service,(please pray for us!) participating in worship at Cheellapalle Village Church, visit Palamaner Girls Technical Training Institute w/ lunch and make our way to Madanapalle, 3 hrs. from Vellore. The team will check into the hotel and have dinner at Jacob Chamberlain Memorial Church.

The Madanapalle conference is Feb. 16th 9:00 am to 7:00 pm followed by dinner. Please pray for the team as they travel, prepare and catch some rest in-between. Pray for strength and endurance. Answered prayers; Marylin’s knee is better! Please pray for Rev. Jonathan Elgersma will feel better soon… cold or allergies?

We pray God will be glorified in all things and the conference in Madanapalle will bear much fruit. I thank God that he put together such a wonderful, amazing team, with a great sense of humor!!

We serve an awesome God!

Blessings,
Linn

Missionary News Updates & Reports

From:
Rev. Linn Gann
RCA Ecumenical Co-worker CSI
Mission Partners India, President
Dear Friends,
Greetings to you from the workshop here in Vellore! Prayers have been answered more than we could ever ask or imagine! What an awesome God we serve and I thank you and know the team thanks you for praying!
They arrived on Sat. night. Rev. John Bashkar, V.P. Diocese of Vellore, C.S.I. and I met them at Chennai airport and we spent the night at CSI Synod guest rooms. Sunday morning, Rev. Jonathan Elgersma gave the message in Chapel; I’m sure he was jet-lagged, tired and experiencing culture shock but everyone was happy.
We made our way to Vellore, 3 hrs away on Sunday, checked into Hotel Darling and have been busy with our schedule. The first day of the three day workshop yesterday for Catechists, Youth Leaders & Laity was phenomenal and the team adjusted well even with the unexpected power outage for afternoon session. A little over 306 pastors, catechists, laity and women leaders attended. From remote rural villages are staying for the three day conference even though each day is the same presentation. They are hungry and eager to grow in Christ!
Needless to say, it was an overwhelming success and God had called the right team members together! We have laughed together and prayed together and it has been truly a wonderful, but exhausting experience.
Please continue to pray for the next two days of conference. We had only 200 meals planned and needed to serve 306. Today they predict there will be many more than the first day. We are blessed and know that the attendees have expressed their unending gratitude for the group and want them to publish their material so they can have copies of everything for future reference.
Please pray with us for Marylin’s knee to feel better she has some knee pain, for team to have wisdom and energy for their long days and full schedule, for our partner brothers and sisters to take what they have learned and be able to apply it…:)
Thanks be to God and you for your prayers, support and encouragement.
Serving with you,
Linn
